Thank you for being Alice, Alice. I read a review in the NYTimes of Leonardo’s Lady with an Ermine. My experience of that painting was very chthonic. Overwhelmingly so. Was the review being polite by saying “erotic?” Dunno. Noting that Sforza was her “patron”, a toothy ferret was an appropriate ornament/weapon which did not look “small” to me over her open bodice.
